Ranier Technology in Cambridge had established a proof of principle for a unique polyurethane spinal orthopaedic medical device that could replace a collapsed or damaged spinal disc.

Mark Harris led an assignment which achieved a ramp up in manufacturing over six months, improving productivity by 40%, improving manufacturing throughput by 40% and improving device quality by 15 times.

New Business Development

The Graseby hospital infusion pump range for Smiths Medical was losing market share. Something had to be done to set a strategy for future products.

Mark Harris identified an opportunity in the market for an improved link between the pumps and hospital data storage and analysis facilities, without cumbersome and costly computer server installations.

Mark achieved sales of £10 million in the first year.

New Product Integration

When the main electronic controller in the new BMW Mini came to be installed, the changed circumstances of the installation area made the current technical solution unfeasible.
